Residential Concept Design
House Oasis
The project site was located near the city center, nestled within Bahrain’s unique topography. To the north were high-rise commercial buildings, while the south and west were surrounded by low-rise residential structures. The main design principle was to create a holistic proposal that incorporated Bahrain’s distinctive architectural fabric by shaping the plot according to its orientation and integrating both landscape and user needs.
In order to protect the building from harsh winds and excessive sun exposure, creating more solid facade surfaces on these orientations became the first step toward climate adaptation. Designing oasis-like green spaces for this pet-friendly family and integrating recreational areas where family members could spend time together within these open spaces were key aspects of the project.
